New Poll Shows Carteresque Trend for Obama

According to a poll conducted in late February and released this week by Democracy Corps-Third Way, Americans by a 10-point margin think that the standing of the United States has dropped under Obama — by a whopping 51 percent to 41 percent. On the question of national security, Democrats now trail Republicans by 17 percent, and on the “right-track, wrong track,” question just 31 feel the country is headed in the right directions, with a massive 62 percent registering discontent.
Democracy Corps-Third Way is a Democratic polling group headed by former Clinton adviser James Carville and Democratic pollster Stanley Greenberg. Their purpose is to warn Democrats of the electoral turbulence ahead. “We would not want the election to be held today, with this poll, Greenberg told the newspaper. “If the election were held today, this would be a ‘change election.’”
The article notes that Obama's appology tours are not winning him any friends, anywhere, and his numerous dumb-assed moves like giving the Dalai Lama cuff-links (the guy wheres robes) have lowered American's opinions of "The Won".
When will Americans learn that inexperienced Democrats make shitty Presidents?

Like I said in the post below, 17 million unemployed Americans can really skew your favorables. He's pissed off the far left fringe by not doing what he promised (thank God), and independents have a serious case of buyer's remorse.

"Given that general political undertow, the president’s ratings on national security are remarkably buoyant. While his overall approval rating stands at 47 percent (down 1 point from Democracy Corps’ January survey), more than half of all likely voters approve of the president’s handling of Afghanistan (58 percent), national security (57 percent), “leading America’s military” (57 percent), “improving America’s standing in the world” (55 percent), fighting terrorism (54 percent), and Iraq (54 percent). These are strong figures at a time when America is fighting two wars abroad and continuing to face an active terrorist threat.
"Moreover, the public resists accusations by former Vice President Dick Cheney and other Republicans that President Obama and his policies have made the country less secure. Even at a moment when likely voters lean toward Republicans by 3 points in a congressional ballot, they favor President Obama’s handing of national security by 5 points: by 38 to 33 percent, more say that President Obama is doing better, rather than worse, than President Bush on national security. And by 4 points (37 to 33 percent), a similar plurality says Obama is doing better than Bush on 'combating terrorism and handling terrorism suspects.'"
If Obama is Carter, who was Bush - Neville Chamberlain?
